It's been quiet around here lately. Too bad Tech lost. I did see Lamar on TV, though. I heard that the main topic of discussion amongst the tailgaters was not about the game, but about the search for a football coach at a small, Catholic boys school in Savannah. Apparently, we've already hired four different coaches. I'm not sure how we're going to pay all of them, but I guess four is better than one. Also, we need to do this again.

I can't tell you how many people on Saturday told me the BC coaching hire was a "done deal" followed by a different salary figure and a different name, each time.
I don't want to get personal or name names on any of these potential hires. All I will say is I think one of the biggest reasons for failure at the school in the last 5+ years has been the administration's disturbing and almost comical preference for hiring people simply because they happen to hold BC diplomas, instead of (God forbid!) hiring people with actual proven track records of success.
Walsh, a transplant Yankee, was obviously not hired because of where he went to high school, but because of the resume he built while at Pacelli. And Walsh will go down as the winningest coach in BC (and maybe Savannah?) history. The same with Brackett, who was not chosen simply because he'd been at BC in the 80's, but because of what he'd actually done at SE Bulloch.
Mike Leach to BC??? He could also take over Colonel Owens position
