A few tweaks

I had to change things up because our old format was outdated according to Blogger, which was preventing me from changing the blog's width so YouTube videos could be posted unless I adopted one of the newer templates like this one.

Also looking for a good new subtitle. The Jimmy Ray quote will remain unless ya'll can think of something better.

Pat this kind of random, but I was reading this article http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/12/05/house-republican-blames-health-care-deficit-commission-impasse/ and it got me thinking. Is there any realistic option to cut the national debt without burdening the tax payers.

Great question Pat. The only way to cut the debt without burdening people that pay taxes (or hold US dollars) is to reduce federal spending.

The government actually takes more in taxes today as a percentage of GDP than the post WW-II average, so we certainly don't have a revenue problem. We have a spending problem.

I tried this little experiment over the NY Times' website and had the deficit solved in no time. And none of it involved increasing taxes:
