"The Worst Economy Since the Great Depression"

Really?

1st Quarter GDP Growth Rate: 4.8%

Unemployment Rate: 4.7%; nearly 5 million new jobs over the past 2 and a half years.
Dow Jones Industrial Average: Sitting at a 6-year high

Consumer Confidence: at the highest level in four years.

So why is the economy still so bad according to polls and the media? Oh wait, I forgot, Bush is a Republican.

You hit the nail on the head, Pat. I love that people dwell on the fact that Bush has a low approval rating. I don't approve of the job he is doing, but you have to respect someone who sticks to his guns. Slick Willy's entire presidency depended on what the polls were saying.

I also bet, Pat, that if you check out how the questions were phrased in these non-news type polls you would see how slanted the wording is. I am really goddamn tired of these news stories about approval ratings and polls. They are non-news stories. Who the hell sits around talking about that? Tell me what those insane ragheads in the middle east are doing, whether the Duke lacross players are innocent or guilty, and if Hitler-ey Clinton is running for president. I don't want to hear if 200 people in Iowa and Michagan do or don't like the president.

Over the past 30 years, liberals have expounded on polls showing how much the american people do not approve of conservatives. Yet the accurate polls (ie Federal Elections) have shown that the american people support conservatives more than what liberals advertise.

Democrats feed off of fear. Meanwhile, Conservatives (I use the term Conservatives because Republicans in Congress are far from Conservative.) feed off of freedoms.

On a side note; Have you heard of how four South Georgia Democrats in the Georgia State Assembly have switched to the Republic Party? You won't hear that news on CNN.

I agree with both of ya'll, but I think our biggest problem now is big-government Republicans posing as conservatives. If you asked me in a poll right now, I would also disapprove of Bush. Think about it, besides the tax cuts, what else has Bush done that is truly "conservative"? The only conservative thing about him is he hates hippies. He's never read Friedman, Hayek, Von Mises, Ayn Rand, or Adam Smith. Reagan, on the other hand, had read all of these. He was a true conservative and we need him now more than ever.
