On a similar note...

I wear 14's, so it's pretty tough for me to find acceptable shoes. I found these Sperry's at DSW the other day, $50. I could not pull the trigger. Any opinions on them?

I have big feet myself. I've found that big slip-ons end up looking like clown shoes if there isn't a lot of detail and texture. Those should be alright.

i don't know about those.

find boat shoes with shoe laces.

I am officially starting a new campaign on here: getting Ryan Smith to buy some Sperrys. Preferably before July so he can wear them to the Smashing Pumpkins concert.

I'm shocked he hasn't discovered how great they are already. I know he'll appreciate the no-socks and not having to tie and untie them.

Yikes. I think you can do better.

Actually, you are way off on the no-socks aspect, Joe. It feels so wrong to me when I put on shoes without socks, even if I'm just going to get the mail. I'll save the Sperrys for when I'm older and can't reach down to tie my shoes or put on socks.

Sorry, but real Sperrys have laces. Those just look like old man slippers, I think my grandad has a pair.

On a side note, I promised myself I'd never buy a pair of Crocs. They are seriously ugly. However, they have come out with a Croc boat shoe called the Croc Islander, and after hearing how comfortable these things are I'm very tempted to break my promise.
