It's Not Fair

I'm surprised this hasn't surfaced on OIA yet.

UGA officials discuss future of UGA-Fla. game.

I used to have a lot of respect for Richt. This is just gutless. Tech gets tired of losing to Georgia, so they hire a coach who can beat them. Georgia gets tired of losing to Florida, so they want to move the game? If I was a Georgia fan, I would be embarrased by this movement.

Some choice quotes from the article:

"There are things we want yet out of the city of Jacksonville that can even the playing field a bit." - Michael Adams

"I have very strong feelings about that, but the problem is I change my mind about once a week." - Bob Bishop

45-42. Love you, got to go.

Rick covered it on March 21st.

We should move the game to Tech's little stadium. Richt has a pretty good record there.

In related news, it's Barry Demott's birthday- just another fine Tech grad.

My apologies to Rick and the OIA crew.

It's amazing that a little ol' engineering school with a little ol' stadium and little ol' asians running around everywhere could beat the mighty University of Georgia in a game of football in their huge stadium (Shane, remind me, what is Sanford's capacity?). That's what makes America great.

Paul Johnson gave a speech a couple weeks ago in Macon. Had this little story: During the comments, he filled in the story of what he said when he turned around to the UGA fans during the GT/UGA game. He said they had been really obnoxious all game, and at half had told him, "You're in Athens. This isn't Army or Furman." After the game, he turned around and told them, "At least Army and Furman played in the 2nd half."

Records in series are irrelvant at the end of the day.... I mean Uga has the lead over the Gators in the series, but what is the series record since 1990? 3-16 for the dawgs. I live my life in the present.Moving this game somewhere else is a stupid idea. Vince Dooley was unbeatable in Jacksonville, and the Gator fans use to complain. It comes in cycles, but tradition is forever!

Who cares about football?

Most of the Georgia people on blogs are opposed to moving the game. Some of the crap Richt said about as to why he wanted to get out of Jacksonville was ridiculous. I could care less if they moved it or went to a home and home. Jacksonville is shitty, but so is Atlanta.

In my 5 years at Georgia, we went 2-3 against Florida. I can live with that. Being 4-1 against Tech wasn't bad either.
