It looks like they are barricading Chippewa and Lafayette Squares for the parade, and also in front of the Cathedral. Wouldn't it be more prudent to set up barriers on Bay Street to cage in all of the crackers?
Gotta do somethin' to keep the drunks in the squares. I'm kidding of course but the real reason our city gave was to keep the parade to a reasonable amount of time. There's only one real way to do that...let the Baptists march instead?
As I saw the folks beginning to claim their spots (I guess thay are camping out?) it occurred to me that the city should divide the squares up into 10 foot by 10 foot plots and rent them from 6 AM until 6 PM. What would they be worth? 20 bucks? 50 bucks? They could pay for the barriers! Yeah, THAT's the ticket!
To all the Irish and wanna be Irish, enjoy your day!

I also love the fact that they spent close to $30,000 on new barracades that will be used ONCE A YEAR.

Am I the only one excited about this weekend?
