The Sopranos (BEWARE: SPOILER)

Did anyone else watch the finale last night?

I was furious. Granted, I've only really started watching the last couple season, but the ending still sucked. The big feud between the families was pretty much settled, Phil's dead, so who came through the door? Feds? Hitmen? Meadow? Who?!

The Sopranos has been on for what, eight years now? HBO owes us an answer. I would have never expected such a flaccid finale to such a good show. And think about this, the series finale of Dawson's Creek had just as many deaths as last night's finale of The Sopranos: one apiece.

That's pretty damn sorry. I guess we'll find out in the movie.

That was the whole point, leave it open for the movie. I think the Journey song that was playing kind of gave it away. Tony is still rockin.

I watched Fox News last night. It was pretty good.

"We Report. You Decide."

I read that a lot of people thought their cable went out.

Also, thanks for spoiling the DC finale. Some of us weren't watching it in middle school.

C'mon now. There's a statute of limitations on the whole no-spoiler thing. The Creek ended 4 years ago and If you didn't know that Jenn kicked the bucket and left her baby to the two gay guys, then you missed the bus.

Besides, everyone knows she murdered Abby Morgan. She could have saved her, but she let her drown.

Did ya'll hear about the Irish version of the Sopranos they're shooting in Savannah? Word has it that the Tony Soprano character will instead be played by Tony Wolfe.

The good news is that no one ever actually dies in this version: inter-familial disputes are instead settled with half-rubber showdowns on 11th street, shouting matches at the K of C, and membership votes at Clan na Erin meetings.

I'm kinda torn on the ending. On one hand, I think the "choose your own ending" thing is kind of a cop-out. It seems like it tries to please everyone, and in doing so, it pleases no one.

However, I do think it's kind of fitting. Tony's life has always been on the edge of tragedy, and in those final moments I every thing pointed to a tragic climax. While most TV shows have tidy little endings, real life does not. So basically it's saying that if Tony and his family can never have closure on their problems, why should you?

Because I pay for HBO, that's why I want an ending.

Here's my issue with it: if I wanted art, I'd go to a museum. I don't need a show to enlighten me or broaden my horizons as a viewer. When I watch a tv show, I want to be entertained.

I'm frustrated that I even know who David Chase is now and how "it's just like him" to do something like this finale. It's bullshit. Get off your high-horse, knock off the arsty-fartsy stuff and give us an ending.

Fox and Friends always gives me an ending... a happy one in fact.
